The 8th Leeds Sports Awards were held on Monday 14th February 2011 at the Ghandi Hall in the James Graham Building of Leeds Metropolitan University in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor James McKenna. The Awards Evening celebrates the achievements and successes of athletes, both professional and amateur, administrators and volunteers in all fields of sport. It is a prestigious occasion organised by the voluntary voice of sport in Leeds, the Leeds Sports Federation.

Over 160 people attended the Awards Evening, enjoying a fine dinner. The evening was hosted by Roger Greenwood with many celebrities from the world of sport attending. There were also many prominent councillors attending who support sport in the city as well as representatives from the business community who support the Awards Evening.

After dinner, Roger Greenwood invited the many guests to present awards to the attending athletes from a wide variety of sports. This was an uplifting and inspiring ceremony with the recipients earning terrific applause from an enthusiastic audience, especially for the volunteer winners. The highlight of the evening came with the presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award to the acclaimed rugby football player Jason Robinson.

The Leeds Sports Federation would like to thank all those who supported the Leeds Sports Awards, from the City Council, the business community and the athletes themselves without whom there would not be an Awards Evening.
